How I Would Fix Star Trek: Picard

BRAINSTORMING

The return of Lore? Dahj was a daughter of Picard and the Borg Queen? Dahj was the daughter of Seven of Nine and Chakotay and was being hunted? Was Lore the one trying to end all biological life at the end of the first season? The Romulans accidentally created the Borg? Picard Season 2 is about World War III and saving Colonel Philip Green? Colonel Philip Green was manipulated by the Romulans? Picard has to save Sisko in the past?

I recently went back through my blog and podcast and was reminded of all of the fun theories fans had about the show Star Trek Picard. The theories ended up being more fun than what we got from the actual show. Picard ended up being about old age and dying and also ripping off Mass Effect. They through in some statements about Brexit and the refugee crisis that seemed to not go anywhere. Are the Romulans innocent refugees or still powerful enough to start a battle over a synth planet. They ended up being right about destroying the synth planet, but why did they destroy Mars? The story involving Icheb, Bruce Maddox and the Lesbian that looks that Deanna Troi didn't make sense either. The first season was a disaster, and I am still unsure what it was supposed to be about. Picard was an angry, lonely, sick man depending on his Irish Romulan refugees. Seven of Nine became an angry alcoholic Lesbian. How? What if another Hologram is taking over her body like the Doctor did in Voyager? There is really some weirdo guy controlling her body! That would be the only way to fix Seven's character.

Raffi could be an interesting character. She is a conspiracy theorist. Making her an alcoholic is dumb. MY FIX - They should have stuck with her smoking a weird space herb into alien meditation looking for a paradise planet and believing the Federation to be behind preventing biological life from moving into a new Age of peace and progression. Maybe she worships the Q and believes humanity will one day be the Q. Her strange beliefs are why she loses her position in Star Fleet and her family. She has connections in the underground and Picard needs her. She uses Picard to get a chance at seeing her son again. She isn't a Lesbian but she is attracted to the man inside of Seven of Nine. Maybe he was a sentient hologram that Raffi grew close to in a previous ship, when it began to explode he uploaded himself into Seven. The audience only sees his face when Seven looks in the mirror.  Raffi tries to help him find another body to take over, maybe one from the synth planet, maybe they communicate with the real very annoyed Seven from time to time. When Seven of Nine finds out about the ragtag crew going to a synth planet, she tags along. "Raffi you better get this man out of my body! His drinking is affecting my liver!"

Rios is the best pilot and trained with the best during the Dominion War. He suffers from PTSD which is controlled with some sort of tech that malfunctions every so often and he thinks everyone is really a Changeling and that is why he has a ship of holograms. He now works shipping Dabo tables for the Ferengi. He is friends with Raffi and with Dr. Jurati who visits him every so often to help him with his brain tech. She did research on android sentience and knew Bruce Maddox who was mysteriously kidnapped. She comes along to help them understand android sentience and technology and to make sure her brain tech that she implanted in Rios and Picard continues to work. She is fascinated by Seven of Nine and keeps harassing her to learn more about how she works. She also deals with her unethical feelings for Rios. She turned off a memory using his brain device about a one night stand they had.

Picard knows Raffi and Rios because they all go to the same therapist who helps Raffi and Rios with their paranoia and Picard with his Irumodic Syndrome, Dr, Jurati.  Every character is dealing with reality, for example, Seven isn't Seven but another personality. They have to pull it together that they aren't hallucinating the entire thing and that the threat from the androids and Romulans is real.  Starfleet dismissing their concerns as paranoia and looks at them as mental patients. Seven hasn't been acting right (they don't know why) and believe her Borg implants are causing her personality to split. Picard and crew are the opposite of a professional Starfleet crew but learn how to gain confidence and work as a real Starfleet team by the time they meet super evil Lore like Android and his Mass Effect threat from the other dimension.

They could still do the Romulan Borg thing but drop the Romulan hating synthetic life. They are trying to create their own Soong Androids and show what happens when you don't have the federation rule that sentient androids have independent life. They are using a captured Borg cube to find the code that allows them to open a portal to this dimension. Lore or some maybe an android accidentally created by Bruce Maddox is the one trying to destroy all synthetic life and uses his daughters to find out how to bring in a destroyer from another dimension by digging through the Borg tech. Soji is sent as a spy and SHE seduces the Romulan scientist. Picard's first mission is to stop Soji.

Dahj is a twin and opposite of Soji, a malfunction that the Lore like android wants to destroy. She is the one to go to Picard for help and is destroyed. Maybe a device that would go off if she told some kind of secret? Picard and crew go to the Borg cube to convince the Romulans to help them. They are still angry that the Federation let them down when the star went super nova and believe the Federation caused it to happen. They find out that the Federation is searching for Picard and crew because they believe them all insane and escaped mental patients. Did Picard imagine Dahj? Make his Irumodic Syndrome more central to the plot! Before Soji leaves, she shoves her Romulan lover into some part of the cube and reactivates the Borg inside. They now have to fight the Borg before going to the planet. Finally, Seven sacrifices herself by taking over the cube. The man inside her leaves and enters a Borg man. Everyone has to leave before Seven self-destructs the cube.

Now we have to also deal with Raffi and her Borg lover as they search for Soji. Maybe they have a couple of Romulans with them, one named Oh. They now believe Picard and his crazy crew. Jurati is still working on cures for Picard and Rios. She finally uses the holograms to help cure Rios but now he remembers being with Jurati. She tries a way to heal Picard but Picard competely loses reality in one episode. He is now Dixon Hill! In his delusion he sees Data. Jurati and crew have to help him come back.

After he comes back, they find out Starfleet is after them, so they stop to hide on Troi and Riker's planet who promise not to tell Starfleet. We can have a Family like episode where we catch up with what is going on with the old crew. We meet Riker and Troi's son and daughter. The son didn't die. The planet is near Betazed and they are helping refugees slowly rebuild after the Dominion War. Then the crew finally leaves to find Soji and finds her at the planet. Maddox is taken over with synth technology. They are able to send a signal to Starfleet and the Romulans send a message to their army. They proved to them that they were telling the truth all along. The Federation and Romulans work together to fight the android army. Picard gives a speech to convince the Evil Android King to shut down the portal. The Romulans promise to stop their plans for an android army and the Federation grant the androids their sovereignty over their own planet.

Raffi's lover enters Bruce Maddox's body. Raffi is happy with the result. The Androids help Jurati find the tech that will cure Picard's Irumodic Syndrome. Jurati and Rios stay on the planet and set up a clinic using android tech to help the mentally ill.

I don't know, maybe those were all bad ideas. I also don't think I am better than the professional writers because I understand that they receive a lot of pressure from producers and executives and prideful actors like Patrick Stewart. Who knows? There was probably an even greater idea that didn't make it past the writing room, but it is fun to imagine what if?

Also, I realize it isn't political enough. Having the paranoid people be right in the end wouldn't be too politically correct right now. You could deal with mental health awareness and respect for all life. Please drop the whole Romulan refugee thing! It is dumb. Maybe Picard in his demented state imagines an Irish Romulan maid based on a Romulan he failed to save in the Dominion War. He had a nanny with an Irish accent when he was young and he confused the two. It makes it hard to believe that Dahj is real. And you question the entire time whether or not what Picard sees is real. Until we see Soji.

I am really upset that Season 2 wasn't about World War III and the Bell's Riots. There were lots of political issues they could have tackled. A Romulan who hates Earth goes back in time and kills Col Philip Green or maybe Raffi, consumed by her obsessions decides to go back in time and kill Col Philip Green. A "go back in time and kill Hitler" plot. Everything is different. Picard is a Lord in the Terran Empire. Q visits him and tells him to visit his old friend Guinan. She tells him time is all wrong. Picard has no memory but is convinced to listen to Guinan. He makes new friends this season who understand time travel.  Raffi's lover is now a full human being instead of a hologram. They are told they need to find Raffi. Because no one has a memory of the other timeline they assume their Terran Empire timeline is the correct one and do not remember Raffi. Guinan tells them how to find her on earth in 2024. She is in LA hanging with celebrities and ignores the plight of humans in the sanctuary district. She has known so many horrors in her life that she just wants to play around on earth for a century. Picard has to convince her to help them find Raffi and that means exploring the sanctuary districts. This wakes Guinan back up to the suffering of life and she learns to become more compassionate. The second season needs to be more fun and comical and NO BORG!

Maybe my ideas are dumb but I am more interested in this hypothetical plot. The Season 2 of Picard we got was a mess. I am still not sure what it was trying to say.
